Volume One includes a sneak peek inside a secret hotel, a deep dive into the weird (and weirdly beautiful) world of fake food, and the story of a fin-de-siècle heiress who shattered a glass ceiling with dinosaur bones.

It’s got a short (short!) story (of sorts) by Janicza Bravo, a personal essay on not getting high on your own supply from Brett Gelman, an emotional roller-coaster ride through Sedona, and a choose-your-own-adventure guide to a flawless Sunday. This issue is also where we introduced our signature Gossamer "How Tos," with instructionals by Molly Young, Man Bartlett, Julia Bainbridge, Beca Grimm, and others. Oh, and puzzles.
